It is a street circuit with a long tradition, just like the Monte Carlo Formula 1 circuit. The first motorcycle race was held at the Zeppelin field in Nuremberg on 18 May 1947, the first car race followed one year later. The current, 2.3 kilometres long track configuration around the historic stone grandstand has been in use since 1972. In spite of the short track length, the Norisring is quite challenging. It is a sprint between the two turning points, the Grundig hairpin and the Dutzendteich hairpin, with extreme braking manoeuvres, and not to forget the Schöller S where the walls are really close, walls that probably every DTM driver already has had an encounter with.

Extreme proximity to the race track

There are hardly any run-off areas at Norisring, only at the two turning points. Otherwise, it is either a wall or an Armco barrier, and the spectators right behind them. Really close to the action, therefore, closer than at hardly any other race track. The old stone grandstand has a special flair with a wide view of the long start and finish straight all the way down to the Grundig hairpin, a premium view of the pit lane action included. And there is plenty of action to be watched from the grandstand at the exit of the Grundig hairpin as this is always a spectacular section.

Open paddock with direct contact to the drivers

It is a park rather than a classic paddock. Be it at the picturesque Dutzendteich lake or on the vast Zeppelin field, the wide area invites to take a walk between the fascinating race cars from DTM, DTM Trophy and DTM Classics as well as the massive truck and trailer combinations, between the show stages and catering stands. Direct contact with the drivers is guaranteed to obtain that exclusive autograph or selfie. By the way: the unique pit walkabout is already included in the ticket price.

Direct arrival with public transport included in ticket price

Nuremberg, the Franconian metropolis, is really easy to reach. Excellent value for money and particularly comfortable is the journey from the wide region using public transport as the fare is already included in the ticket price. The Norisring can also be reached very well by car using the A3 and A9 motorways while it is also within easy reach from Nuremberg airport.

High VIP density

Seeing and being seen: at Norisring, this is probably more relevant than at any other race track in Germany. Be it Franz-Josef Strauss, the prime minister of Bavaria, in the past, the current prime minister Markus Söder nowadays, stars and starlets from the film and music business are all coming to the Norisring. After all, the numerous media representatives also ensure attention that goes well beyond the Norisring itself. And for every motorsport official and drivers from back in the day, a visit to the season highlight is a must, too.

Quelle/Source: https://www.dtm.com/etsuoka/events/norisring-2022

Located in the heart of Franconia, Nuremberg is the second-largest city in Bavaria and is the home of the legendary Norisring. Bratwurst stalls where the specialty can be had are widely spread throughout the city centre. A major part of Nuremberg’s nightlife can be found in the historic city centre.
